Xaloc was designed for editorial use in books, magazines and newspapers. This typeface family contains different font versions for different optical sizes; Caption, Text, Subhead and Display, all of them with different x-height proportions and contrast. Its design approach enhances text flow and continuous reading. Tipos das letras went to Bergen (Norway) to made Ruha Stencil workshop at Bergen Academy of Art and Design. Designed by Tipos das Letras, TDL Ruha Latin is a modern and mechanical serif typeface and it results from the development of the stencil RUHA. Being the first typeface of the family, sets the basic concepts to be developed further, on each version to come. There is rational and geometrical connection with the Roman du Roi design approach, since the letterforms are imposed by the constraints of the RUHA ruler. Maintaining the same structure with different typographical and stylistic properties, the stencil allowed to explore a modern typeface, with vertical stress, high contrast between the thick and thin strokes and triangular serifs.
