TDL Ruha Crown is a decorative, modern and mechanical serif typeface and it results from the development of the stencil RUHA. Being the first typeface of the family, sets the basic concepts to be developed further, on each version to come. There is an rigid geometrical connection with the Roman du Roi design approach, since the letterforms are imposed by the constraints of the RUHA ruler. The main typographic proportions are connected with the modern typefaces, like Didot or Bodoni. Maintaining the same structure with different typographical and stylistic properties, the stencil allowed to explore a modern typeface, with vertical stress, high contrast between the thick and thin strokes and decorative serifs.
